Catherine was born on October 9th, 1965.  Like so many others, the LRA killed her husband, burned their houses and posessions, forcing her to flee Kitgum in 1996 for a better life in Jinja.

Her youngest child is 15 years old and eldest is 24 years old.

Catherine is an only child, her other siblings passed away from sickness, malaria or killed by the LRA.

Her mother, and some of her Uncles and Aunties have HIV, but thankfully nobody in her immediate family has it yet.

Her 24 year old daughter really wants to study but without money this is just a dream.  3 other children are currently attending secondary school.

She also has 2 dependants, who are the children of her cousins.

Catherine has been renting the same house since 1996, it costs her 25,000 shillings a month, but she may have to find another place to live because of a council decision.

Her ultimate wish would be to have her own home so she can be confident of having a safe and settled future for her and her children.
