Nora Atito is not quite sure when she was born. It was sometime in 1939, but that is as close as she can get.  Nora moved to Jinja from Kitgum in 1966 with her husband.

Life was hard for Nora in Kitgum.  The Karamajon tribe raided her home and stole her cattle and other livestock.  If that wasn't bad enough,  the LRA soon followed and burnt down all the houses in her village.  Many of her relatives died.

Nora has six children and is caring for four of her relatives children.  Nora lost her brother and sister-in-law.  Her brother had a swollen stomach that eventually killed him.  No one is quite sure what it was.  The sister-in-law passed away from HIV.  Nora also lost her last born son in a freak soccer accident.

Nora lives in a small house in a subdivision on the outskirts of Massese slum.

Her greatest wish is to return to Kitgum and commence farming again.
