Willie, Lyra and Flor FesaritFlordeliza - or Flor to her friends - pastors the local Four Square Gospel Church together with her husband Willie

Flor calls her youngest child her "special child".  Lyra (17) has some severe learning disabilities.  Lyra has never gone to school and Flor teaches her at home.  At the moment, Flor is teaching Lyra to write her name.  Flor thinks that Lyra's condition was a result of Flor getting very sick during the pregnancy.  Flor was pregnant during the time of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption.  A lot of ash covered the Philippines - some ash made it as far away as Japan.  Flor thinks she got sick as a result of all the ash she inhaled.

She has three other children.  Charisee (22), Herald (21) and Liza (18).  Charisse and Herald have taken time out from their degrees to support Liza's who is studying Computer Science in Manila.  Once they have all finished their degrees, they plan to open an Internet cafe in Manila to support the family.

Flor, Willie and Lyra all live in a house that is attached to the side of the church.  They sleep in the church annex.

Flor and Willie have been pastoring at the Four Square Gospel Church for approximately fifteen years.  The church has 100 hundred members and a typical service has between 65 and 70 attendees.

Flor spends a lot of her time preparing sermons, bible studies, teaching and praying.  She also visits people in need on the church motorcycle.  She travels far and wide all over the island of Tablas.

Flor says that she does it all for the Lord and His church.  Flor also says that she become born-again as a result of her uncle telling her the good news when she was in elementary school.  Flor studied at a Bible School when she was 21.

When Typhoon Frank hit Sugod, several families took shelter in the church.  Typhoon Frank removed the roof of the Flor's home.  The water rose to a depth of one foot.  Aid arrived from the PCEC (Philippines Council of Evangelical Churches) in the form of rice and groceries.  Flor helped to distribute the aid.

Flor's greatest wish is that her children have stable jobs and that they continue to serve the Lord.

The Four Square Gospel ChurchHer favorite Bible verse in Mathew 28:18-20:

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
