His oldest sister lives and works in Manila as a tailor. She tries to send money home when she can. Pije lives with 7 of his siblings, his mother, and his father. His mother is a stay-at-home mom who cooks, cleans, and raises her children. His father is a construction worker in Sugod, their hometown.
They eat rice, vegetables, chicken, and eggs for most meals.
